Συλλήψεις για διακίνηση κοκαΐνης σε Αττική και Μύκονο

Τρεις Ελληνες, ηλικίας 54, 51 και 50 ετών, συνελήφθησαν για κατοχή και διακίνηση μεγάλων ποσοτήτων ναρκωτικών σε διάφορες περιοχές της Αττικής και στη Μύκονο, ενώ στην κατοχή των δύο βρέθηκε και οπλισμός.

Στις έρευνες που πραγματοποιήθηκαν βρέθηκε σημαντική ποσότητα συσκευασμένης κοκαΐνης, έτοιμη προς πώληση, καθώς και ποσότητες ακατέργαστης κάνναβης.

Ειδικότερα, στις 21 Ιουλίου αστυνομικοί εντόπισαν αρχικά σε περιοχή της Μυκόνου τον 51χρονο τη στιγμή που προμήθευε τον 54χρονο με ποσότητα κοκαΐνης και τους συνέλαβαν. Ακολούθησαν αστυνομικές έρευνες σε οικία που διέμενε ο 51χρονος, καθώς και σε μοτοσικλέτα που χρησιμοποιούσε, ιδιοκτησίας του 50χρονου αδελφού του, όπου βρέθηκαν συσκευασίες κοκαΐνης.

Στη συνέχεια, αναζητήθηκε ο 50χρονος, ο οποίος εντοπίστηκε και συνελήφθη σε περιοχή της Αθήνας. Σε έρευνες που έγιναν σε τρία διαμερίσματα στην Αθήνα, τα οποία χρησιμοποιούσε ο συλληφθείς για να αποθηκεύει τα ναρκωτικά εντοπίστηκαν ποσότητες κάνναβης, μικροποσότητα κοκαΐνης, καθώς και οπλισμός.

Στο πλαίσιο των ερευνών, βρέθηκαν και κατασχέθηκαν, μεταξύ άλλων: 141 αυτοσχέδιες συσκευασίες με κοκαΐνη, βάρους 152 γραμμαρίων, ακατέργαστη κάνναβη και ηρωίνη, σκόνη άγνωστης χημικής σύστασης βάρους 260 γραμμαρίων, δύο πιστόλια, 216 φυσίγγια διαφόρων διαμετρημάτων και το χρηματικό ποσό των 4.720 ευρώ.

Οι συλληφθέντες, με τη δικογραφία που σχηματίστηκε σε βάρος τους, οδηγήθηκαν στον εισαγγελέα Πρωτοδικών Αθηνών, ο οποίος τους παρέπεμψε σε τακτική ανάκριση.

Οι έρευνες συνεχίζονται, προκειμένου να διερευνηθεί όλο το εύρος της παράνομης δραστηριότητας των συλληφθέντων, αλλά και η τυχόν συμμετοχή τους σε άλλες εγκληματικές δραστηριότητες.

 

Σητεία: Σύλληψη 25χρονου με δενδρύλλια κάνναβης

Συνελήφθη στη Σητεία, από αστυνομικούς του Κλιμακίου Αστυνομικών Επιχειρήσεων Σητείας και του Αστυνομικού Τμήματος, ένας 25χρονος έχοντας στην κατοχή του 14 δενδρύλλια κάνναβης.

Ειδικότερα, κατά τη διάρκεια έρευνας, βρέθηκε στην κατοχή του και κατασχέθηκε αυτοσχέδια συσκευασία που περιείχε ποσότητα κάνναβης.

Στη συνέχεια ακολούθησε έρευνα στο σπίτι του, κατά την οποία βρέθηκαν και κατασχέθηκαν 14 δενδρύλλια κάνναβης, από τα οποία τα 13 ήταν εκριζωμένα και ημιαποξηραμένα καθώς και ένα μονόκαννο κυνηγετικό όπλο.

Η προανάκριση διενεργείται από το Αστυνομικό Τμήμα Σητείας, ενώ ο συλληφθείς θα οδηγηθεί στον Εισαγγελέα Πλημμελειοδικών Λασιθίου.

Εντοπίστηκαν 149 δενδρύλλια κάνναβης στη Σαμοθράκη

Στον εντοπισμό και την κατάσχεση 149 δενδρυλλίων κάνναβης προέβησαν το απόγευμα της Παρασκευής στελέχη του γραφείου Ασφαλείας του Α' Λιμενικού Τμήματος Σαμοθράκης του Κεντρικού Λιμεναρχείου Αλεξανδρούπολης και του Γραφείου Δίωξης Ναρκωτικών του Κεντρικού Λιμεναρχείου Καβάλας.

Μετά από αξιοποίηση πληροφοριών, τα ανωτέρω στελέχη μετέβησαν στην περιοχή Βαραδες της Σαμοθράκης, όπου εντόπισαν σε δύο περίφρακτες οργανωμένες φυτείες τα δενδρύλλια κάνναβης, ύψους από 0,30 έως και 3 μέτρων και 60 εκατοστών.

Η επιχείρηση πραγματοποιήθηκε στο πλαίσιο των συστηματικών και εντατικών ελέγχων που πραγματοποιεί το προσωπικό του Λιμενικού Σώματος – Ελληνικής Ακτοφυλακής για την καταπολέμηση των οργανωμένων μορφών εγκληματικότητας και την αποφυγή έκνομων πράξεων.

Από την οικεία Λιμενική Αρχή που διενεργεί την προανάκριση, εκριζώθηκαν και κατασχέθηκαν τα ανωτέρω δενδρύλλια.

Φυτεία 141 δενδρυλλίων κάνναβης εντοπίστηκε από αστυνομικούς της Δίωξης Ναρκωτικών Καλαμάτας, με τη συνδρομή της Υπηρεσίας Εναέριων Μέσων της αστυνομίας, σε δασική περιοχή της Οιχαλίας.

Τα δενδρύλλια, που ξεριζώθηκαν και κατασχέθηκαν, ήταν σε ειδικά διαμορφωμένο και κατάλληλα εκχερσωμένο χώρο.

Κατασχέθηκαν επίσης 580 γραμμάρια χασίς και καλλιεργητικός εξοπλισμός.

Το Τμήμα Δίωξης Ναρκωτικών Καλαμάτας διενεργεί έρευνες για τον εντοπισμό και τη σύλληψη των καλλιεργητών της φυτείας.

Φυτεία χασίς αποτελούμενη από 66 δενδρύλλια εντοπίστηκε και εκριζώθηκε στη διάρκεια αστυνομικής επιχείρησης σε θαμνώδη περιοχή του δήμου Πύλου-Νέστορος.

Το Τμήμα Δίωξης Ναρκωτικών Καλαμάτας διενεργεί προανάκριση και οι αστυνομικές έρευνες συνεχίζονται για τον εντοπισμό και τη σύλληψη των καλλιεργητών της φυτείας.

ORLANDO, Florida -- Bernie Sanders' still-impassioned campaign electrified debate over a draft of the Democratic Party's policy positions Saturday, winning concessions on climate change but failing to include opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal.
During a frequently combative session in an Orlando hotel ballroom Saturday, members of the Democratic National Convention's full Platform Committee voted down amendments to the party platform to explicitly oppose the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal. But Sanders supporters exploded in cheers when they won environmental amendments that included support for pricing greenhouse gases, prioritizing renewable energy and limiting fracking.
Some Sanders backers had also pushed for language to remove marijuana as a "Class 1 Federal Controlled Substance, providing a reasoned pathway for future legalization."
According to a Washington Post report of the committee's decision-making process, one Sanders delegate from Tennessee, David King, had argued that marijuana was added to the Controlled Substances Act during a "craze" to hurt "hippies and blacks." The committee later approved the "pathway for future legalization" language.
"None of this would have happened in this forum without Bernie Sanders pushing this issue front and center over and over again," said environmentalist Bill McKibben, a supporter of the Vermont senator.
Hillary Clinton backers offered support for the environmental language, but stressed that pricing greenhouse gases was a reflection of the views of some party members and was not a part of her current climate plans.
"Her plan is clearly articulated on her website," said Energy Policy Adviser Trevor Houser. "It's not her plan."
Since Clinton effectively clinched the Democratic presidential nomination, Sanders has aggressively campaigned to include his progressive policies in the party platform. He has avoided endorsing Clinton, but appears to be closing in on backing her campaign. He told reporters Saturday that the campaigns are "coming closer and closer together in trying to address the major issues facing this country."

Hillary Clinton: "Not in favor" of Pacific Trade deal"

As the policy meeting concluded after midnight on Sunday morning, aides to Clinton and Sanders both hailed the newly amended platform draft as the "most progressive" in party history. The draft includes many of Sanders' priorities, including a call for a $15 federal minimum wage over time, steps to break up large Wall Street banks and support for the end to the death penalty.
"I think if you read the platform right now, you will understand that the political revolution is alive and kicking," said Sanders policy adviser Warren Gunnels.
Despite coming together on many pieces of the platform, there were still evident tensions in the room. In the closing moments of the meeting, Sanders supporters shouted down an amendment that implied Clinton was the nominee.
The platform is a nonbinding document that serves as a guidepost for the party. After the Orlando meeting, the document will be voted on at the convention in Philadelphia this month. The Orlando meeting is not the final stop for Sanders, who should have support to file reports that would allow for votes on some of these issues at the convention.
While platform talks are often an afterthought, Sanders' focus on the document brought more heat to the proceedings in Orlando, which stretched late into the night on Friday and Saturday. The fight over the trade deal was punctuated with boos and shouting at times, as members debated the nuances of the language.
Sanders and Clinton have come out against the trade deal, but President Barack Obama supports it. Clinton supporters, including labor leaders, believed that toughening the trade language made enough of a statement without directly opposing the president, whom they did not mention during their public comments. The amendment said that trade deals "must protect workers and the environment and not undermine access to critically needed prescription drugs." It went on to say that Democrats would apply those standards "to all trade agreements, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership."
Labor leaders said after the vote that their amendment made clear where they stand on TPP and that they oppose "bad trade deals." But Sanders backers expressed their frustration with boos and angry shouts.
Sanders supporter Benjamin Jealous, a former president of the NAACP argued that language opposing the TPP would help Democrats win the presidential election in November. "I want us to stop making it harder for us to win and start making it easier for us to win," he said.
Clinton senior policy adviser Maya Harris said in a statement that Clinton opposes the TPP and is not interested in "tinkering around the margins" of the deal. She added that the TPP "fails the test that is now laid out in the platform as a result of this amendment."
The compromise language on climate change said that the Democratic Party believes "that carbon dioxide, methane and other greenhouse gases should be priced" to reflect their negative economic impact. It backs renewable fuels over natural gas power plants. And it offers support for more regulation of fracking and says fracking should not happen where there is local opposition.
Sanders had sought a carbon tax and national ban on fracking.
An effort failed to add language in a section on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, calling for "an end to occupation and illegal settlements." The committee instead kept language that advocates working toward a "two-state solution of the Israel-Palestinian conflict" that guarantees Israel's security with recognized borders "and provides the Palestinians with independence, sovereignty, and dignity."
Both sides agreed on an amendment focused on criminal justice reform, calling for an investigation by the Department of Justice to investigate on any police-involved shootings

Πτολεμαΐδα: Συλλήψεις για συμμετοχή σε κύκλωμα διακίνησης ναρκωτικών

Στη σύλληψη τριών μελών ελληνοαλβανικού κυκλώματος εισαγωγής και διακίνησης ναρκωτικών στην Ελλάδα προχώρησε η αστυνομία στην Πτολεμαΐδα.

Σε βάρος των συλληφθέντων που φέρονται και «πρωταγωνιστές» του κυκλώματος σχηματίσθηκε δικογραφία, κατά περίπτωση, για παράβαση του νόμου περί εξαρτησιογόνων ουσιών και κλοπή, ενώ κατασχέθηκαν πάνω από 30 κιλά χασίς, τα περισσότερα από τα οποία ήταν κρυμμένα σε απομονωμένη αγροικία, έξω από την Πτολεμαΐδα.

Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες που επικαλείται το ΑΜΠΕ, οι συλληφθέντες φαίνεται ότι παραλάμβαναν τα ναρκωτικά από δασική περιοχής της ελληνοαλβανικής μεθορίου, όπου τα έκρυβαν συνεργοί τους, μέλη του ίδιου κυκλώματος. Οι ναρκωτικές ουσίες προορίζονταν κατά βάση να διακινηθούν στις πόλεις της Κοζάνης και της Θεσσαλονίκης.

Αστυνομικοί της Υποδιεύθυνσης Δίωξης Ναρκωτικών Θεσσαλονίκης φαίνεται ότι είχαν από καιρό πληροφορίες για τη δράση του κυκλώματος και το μεσημέρι της Τετάρτης «στήθηκε» η επιχείρηση που οδήγησε στη σύλληψη των τριών ανδρών, ηλικίας 29, 51 και 46 ετών.

Οι συλληφθέντες επέβαιναν σε Ι.Χ. αυτοκίνητο, στο εσωτερικό του οποίου κατασχέθηκαν τρία δέματα ακατέργαστης κάνναβης, συνολικού βάρους ενός κιλού και 832 γραμμαρίων.

 

 

Στη συνέχεια, πραγματοποιήθηκαν έρευνες σε σπίτια και στην αγροικία, όπου βρέθηκαν άλλα 26 δέματα ακατέργαστης κάνναβης, συνολικού βάρους 29 κιλών και 109 γραμμαρίων, ένα τσιγάρο εμπλουτισμένο με κάνναβη, όπως επίσης 13 κινητά τηλέφωνα, που εκτιμάται ότι χρησιμοποιούσε το κύκλωμα για τις παράνομες συναλλαγές του, αλλά και 24 πακέτα σύνδεσης κινητής τηλεφωνίας.

Εξάλλου, στο πλαίσιο ερευνών, προέκυψε ότι ο 51 ετών άνδρας, μαζί με 30χρονη συνεργό του, αφαίρεσαν τα προηγούμενα 24ωρα πορτοφόλι από 40χρονη, κλοπή που έγινε μέσα σε κατάστημα υγειονομικού ενδιαφέροντος στην Κοζάνη.

Στην κατάσχεση 47 δενδρυλλίων κάνναβης προχώρησε το πρωί το Λιμενικό στη Σαμοθράκη.

Συγκεκριμένα, κατόπιν αξιοποίησης πληροφοριών, στελέχη Λ.Σ.-ΕΛ.ΑΚΤ. μετέβησαν στην περιοχή Ανω Μεριά Κερασια ν. Σαμοθράκης, όπου εντόπισαν σε περιφραγμένη οργανωμένη φυτεία, τα δενδρύλλια κάνναβης, ύψους από 0,30 εκατοστών έως και 1 μέτρου και 30 εκατοστών.

Η επιχείρηση πραγματοποιήθηκε στο πλαίσιο των συστηματικών και εντατικών ελέγχων που πραγματοποιεί το προσωπικό του Λιμενικού Σώματος – Ελληνικής Ακτοφυλακής για την καταπολέμηση των οργανωμένων μορφών εγκληματικότητας και την αποφυγή έκνομων πράξεων.

Από την οικεία Λιμενική Αρχή που διενεργεί την προανάκριση, εκριζώθηκαν και κατασχέθηκαν τα ανωτέρω δενδρύλλια καθώς και ένα μεταλλικό μπρίκι το οποίο περιείχε αποσπάσματα κάνναβης μεικτού βάρους τριών γραμμαρίων και τριών εκατοστών του γραμμαρίου (3,3gr) όπως επίσης και άλλα παρελκόμενα αντικείμενα.

Φυτεία με 376 δενδρύλλια κάνναβης εντόπισε στον Μυλοπόταμο Ρεθύμνου ομάδα αστυνομικών του Τμήματος Δίωξης Ναρκωτικών Ρεθύμνου.

Μετά από αξιοποίηση πληροφοριών, η ΕΛ.ΑΣ οργάνωσε επιχείρηση εντοπισμού της φυτείας, και σε δημοτικό διαμέρισμα του δήμου Μυλοποτάμου, βρήκε σε ειδικά διαμορφωμένο χώρο τα συγκεκριμένα δενδρύλλια κάνναβης, ύψους έως 1,50 μ., όλα στο στάδιο της ανάπτυξης, τα οποία εκριζώθηκαν και κατασχέθηκαν.

Επιπλέον, στον ίδιο χώρο βρέθηκαν και κατασχέθηκαν, είκοσι δύο αποξηραμένα δενδρύλλια κάνναβης ενώ συνεχίζονται οι έρευνες, στην ευρύτερη περιοχή, για τον εντοπισμό και τη σύλληψη των δραστών.

Cannabinoids remove plaque-forming Alzheimer's proteins from brain cells

Salk Institute scientists have found preliminary evidence that tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and other compounds found in marijuana can promote the cellular removal of amyloid beta, a toxic protein associated with Alzheimer's disease.

While these exploratory studies were conducted in neurons grown in the laboratory, they may offer insight into the role of inflammation in Alzheimer's disease and could provide clues to developing novel therapeutics for the disorder.
"Although other studies have offered evidence that cannabinoids might be neuroprotective against the symptoms of Alzheimer's, we believe our study is the first to demonstrate that cannabinoids affect both inflammation and amyloid beta accumulation in nerve cells," says Salk Professor David Schubert, the senior author of the paper.
Alzheimer's disease is a progressive brain disorder that leads to memory loss and can seriously impair a person's ability to carry out daily tasks. It affects more than five million Americans according to the National Institutes of Health, and is a leading cause of death. It is also the most common cause of dementia and its incidence is expected to triple during the next 50 years.
It has long been known that amyloid beta accumulates within the nerve cells of the aging brain well before the appearance of Alzheimer's disease symptoms and plaques. Amyloid beta is a major component of the plaque deposits that are a hallmark of the disease. But the precise role of amyloid beta and the plaques it forms in the disease process remains unclear.
In a manuscript published in June 2016's Aging and Mechanisms of Disease, Salk team studied nerve cells altered to produce high levels of amyloid beta to mimic aspects of Alzheimer's disease.
The researchers found that high levels of amyloid beta were associated with cellular inflammation and higher rates of neuron death. They demonstrated that exposing the cells to THC reduced amyloid beta protein levels and eliminated the inflammatory response from the nerve cells caused by the protein, thereby allowing the nerve cells to survive.
"Inflammation within the brain is a major component of the damage associated with Alzheimer's disease, but it has always been assumed that this response was coming from immune-like cells in the brain, not the nerve cells themselves," says Antonio Currais, a postdoctoral researcher in Schubert's laboratory and first author of the paper. "When we were able to identify the molecular basis of the inflammatory response to amyloid beta, it became clear that THC-like compounds that the nerve cells make themselves may be involved in protecting the cells from dying."
Brain cells have switches known as receptors that can be activated by endocannabinoids, a class of lipid molecules made by the body that are used for intercellular signaling in the brain. The psychoactive effects of marijuana are caused by THC, a molecule similar in activity to endocannabinoids that can activate the same receptors. Physical activity results in the production of endocannabinoids and some studies have shown that exercise may slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease.
Schubert emphasized that his team's findings were conducted in exploratory laboratory models, and that the use of THC-like compounds as a therapy would need to be tested in clinical trials.
In separate but related research, his lab found an Alzheimer's drug candidate called J147 that also removes amyloid beta from nerve cells and reduces the inflammatory response in both nerve cells and the brain. It was the study of J147 that led the scientists to discover that endocannabinoids are involved in the removal of amyloid beta and the reduction of inflammation.
